Thank you for this MOD.

I like how the chat shows up at the top.

My question is how can I have it only show up after a person logs in and is part of a certain group?

For example, I don't want guests to see it. I don't want everyone to see it... only GROUP B.

Can you explain how I can do this?

Currently you would have to custom modify the source code to do this.
As of now, we do not provide an example to do this.

Okay... I went ahead and modified it.
Instead of
if($user->data['user_id'] != ANONYMOUS) {

replace it with
if($user->data['group_id'] == '9' {
